Imagine a Free Vermont...

My name is Peter Garritano and I am running as an Independent for Lieutenant Governor. I grew up in Delaware and hold a degree in Geography from the University of Delaware. Most of my work experience is in management (primarily in the car sales business). In 1993 I moved to Vermont with my wife and our children. I came to Vermont because of its beauty and unique character. I loved the environment, the community, and the laid back unpretentious attitude of the people. Through the years I have learned just how important moving here has been to my family and me as we have enjoyed the outdoors, community, and cultural activities as well as watching some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world over Lake Champlain.

Vermont is special. One of my main motivations in seeking office is to preserve the things that make it that way. I feel the people of the state should ultimately be the ones who decide what policies guide them, not the federal government. The citizens of the state have proven time and again that they, not Washington, know what's best for Vermonters. If elected I will work to make sure that all important decisions about things like health care, civil liberties, education, and whether Vermonters should be sent off to war will be made by the people of Vermont, not by the disconnected , bought and paid for officials in Congress. The Lieutenant Governor's job and the job of all elected leaders should be to implement the decisions made by the people. I believe in bottom up government, not top down.
